CHIARO e SCURO. The Art of Engraving

VS unio art gallery glad to present a new exhibition project dedicated to the art of engraving, organized within the context of traditional educational activity. The goal of the exhibition is to get acquainted with a variety of engraving techniques: woodcut, etching, aquatint, etc., and the main methods of creating that are still practiced. We will tell you about the original purpose and the subsequent development of this printing art form.

The exposition task will be the demonstration of individual pieces of West European engraving included in the chronological framework from the 15th to the 20th centuries. Artworks made by various methods will provide thematic diversity. VS unio will show the work of the largest masters of engraving: Jacques Callot, Giovanni Piranesi, Albrecht Durer, Rembrandt Van Rijn, Marc Chagall. The original scenography with glass structures, beaten by light help to understand the peculiarities of this field. 

The accompanying information materials included in the exhibition space will support the museum format and level. "Chiaro e Scuro. The Art of Engraving" promises to repeat the success of previous exhibitions - blockbusters "Collection of peaks" (2015) and "UNIQUENESS. Private collections of Western European painting XIV – XVIII centuries" (2017).
